The Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg
The Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg —

the place where Finnish and Russian cultures meet

Our mission

We are here to tell you about Finnish culture

A Finnish centre of culture in St. Petersburg.

We arrange exhibitions and concerts and support the participation of Finnish experts in the major public events of St. Petersburg such as the Nordic Weeks, Strelka Institute’s events in St. Petersburg and the Stereoleto Music festival. We also organise seminars and meetings for Finnish language teachers and interpreters.  We have a library with fiction and non-fiction book in Finnish, Russian, Swedish and English languages. The material includes children’s literature, dictionaries and fresh issues of Finnish newspapers and magazines.

The Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg is a non-profit organisation and is part of 17 independent Finnish institutes for science and culture around the world. From June 2017 the Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg is managed by the Finland-Russia Society.
